Today, the world around us had fundamentally changed to digital world with seamless integration of technologies transforming the real world objects into intelligent virtual objects.
On this background Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Southern Region, conducted a maiden summit on AI Application & Digi-Tech Summit & Expo with the theme “Shifting to Applied Intelligence” from 11th to 12th February 2020 at Hotel Lalit Ashok, Bengaluru, India.
The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) works to create and sustain an environment conducive to the development of India, partnering industry, Government, and civil society, through advisory and consultative processes.
Representing our academy, Mr.Vijith.P, our renowned trainer attended the Summit. He, Vijith, was able to attend several sessions which discussed Deployment of AI applications in large scale corporate environment like Healthcare, Governance, Industries and Agriculture, Finance, Logistics, E-commerce etc. There was an interactive session which was handled by voice- recognizable Robot. These sessions are handled by researchers and experts from MNCs like Capgemini, Barclays, Microsoft, IBM Research Labs and much more, who are currently focusing on artificial intelligence to enable their business to work smarter and faster.
Delivering his inaugural address, Mr. Prashant Kumar Mishra, IAS, Director – IT & BT, Managing Director, Karnataka Innovation and Technology Society, Government of Karnataka, said that the Government has made significant advancement in Artificial Intelligence (AI) which has led to more accurate decision-making. Recognizing AI’s potential to transform economies and the need for India to strategize its approach, the government of India, through NITI Aayog, has established the National Program on AI with a view to guiding the research and development of new technologies. Some perceive Artificial Intelligence with a fear that, as more this discipline improves, the more human activities could easily be replaced. For this reason, some do not want AI to progress to a point where it achieves Human Level of intelligence. But in reality Artificial Intelligence is an umbrella under which a number of different technologies like Machine Learning (ML), Deep learning, Robotics, Computer vision, Cognitive computing, Natural Language Processing (NLP) etc resides. So AI is a means to empower people by collaborating with intelligent software. In today’s dynamic world, artificial intelligence is enabling business to work smarter and making quick informed decisions, create innovative products and improve services. Healthcare is a field where application of AI is bringing about revolutionary changes. Cancer detection and prediction by AI algorithms have an accuracy better than that by humans. AI also helps hyper-personalize cancer treatment by predicting the response of individual patients to therapeutic drugs and the required radiation dosages.
AI is behind many of Google’s products and is a big priority for the company as well. The Banking and Finance industry heavily relies on AI for things like customer service, fraud protection, chat bots and the likes. Spam filters in our email inbox and Smart email categorization are AI powered. There are “Smart replies” in Gmail which aids the user to respond to a mail with simple phrases like “Thanks” or “Let’s do it” with just one click. E-commerce websites like Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra use AI based Neural Networks to quickly return a wide list of the most relevant products as well as personalized recommendations on their websites and through emails to increase their revenue tremendously.
All the walks of our lives are tremendously being impacted by AI on a daily basis and it’s high time we recognized the way in which AI is improving our quality of living, which in the years to come will substantially increase with AI reducing the human-in-the-loop element with better performing smart AI algorithms. With an objective of identifying and showcasing the best start-up with the most Innovative scale deployment of Artificial Intelligence & Industrial AI in a large corporate environment, CII in association with Accenture Ventures held the “CII AI Challenge” which felicitated the best star-ups in each segment. AskSid was recognized as the Best Start-up for Innovative deployment of Artificial Intelligence in large scale corporate environment. Qualitas Technologies was recognized as the Best Start-up for Innovative deployment of Industrial AI in large scale corporate environment. The summit witnessed a live audience poll for the presentation made by the startups and Orbo.ai was recognized has Best Startup in Audience poll category.
